We found this place by chance and were really surprised! The atmosphere was very nice and comfortable. The food was amazing — the best meat we have ever tried! We really enjoyed our dinner and will definitely come back.

Went for lunch, good menu with a variety of sandwiches to choose from. Good amount of meat on them but nothing to really write home about. We tried the short ribs sandwich (juicy meat but lacked sauce/flavour), and the tartare one which was similar, loads of meat but with only 4 thin flavourful pickle slices for the whole thing. Best thing were the chicken wings we took as appetizer: perfect texture and excellent sauce. Cocktails were good, but whole order took over 40 minutes before it was brought to our table. Considering the competition around, happy to have tried it but wouldn't go again.

If you’re craving American-style burgers and steaks, this is the place to be. I started with the chicken wings, which were flavorful and satisfying, and then had the Classic Beef Burger — cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the lively atmosphere and great energy of the restaurant made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great burger spot in Amsterdam.

It is the best restaurant for steaks and ribs in Amsterdam. I had the beef short rib with a side of fries. It is one of the best ribs I have ever had. Also, the fries are the best fries I’ve had in Amsterdam. They were thin, crispy, and fresh. The service was very good and quick, and the restaurant’s location is great. To be honest, even the price is great for a steakhouse. I highly recommend it, and I’ll visit it again in my next trip to Amsterdam.

This place was recommended to us by our hotel concierge and it turned out to be a very strong choice for a relaxed but high quality meal. A reservation is definitely smart, although there is bar seating for walk ins so do not write it off entirely. You can still luck into a seat without a booking. We ordered the Plateau for Two. It is a substantial mixed board featuring pork belly, short rib, sausage, half a roasted chicken, and ribs, along with house pickles and pickled onions. Three sauces arrive with it. One is a smoky barbecue sauce, one is a creamy aïoli, and the third is a herb driven green sauce reminiscent of chimichurri but noticeably brighter, fresher, and more layered. We added the grilled vegetables and I would strongly recommend this. The platter included zucchini, eggplant, roasted peppers, carrots, fennel, and a bit of tabouli in a light vinaigrette. Everything was seasoned correctly and cooked with care. The vegetables also come with extra pickles and trust me you will want as many of those as you can get. The red onion pickles in particular were addictive, tangy, slightly sweet, and perfectly balanced. In the United States, mixed meat platters often have at least one filler item that exists purely for volume. Here, nothing was a filler. Every component was well executed and genuinely enjoyable. The fries were also excellent. They were thin, crispy, and golden, the style people compare to McDonald’s but cooked with far more consistency. I usually ignore fries in mixed platters but these were worth finishing. The chicken was impressively moist, including the white meat. Considering the volume they cook nightly, keeping this level of juiciness is no small feat. The ribs were tender and deeply flavored with a savory, slow cooked richness that avoided the one note sweetness that shows up so often in the United States. The sausage was aromatic, garlicky, and satisfying. The short rib was another standout. It had a subtle cumin profile and a slow braised texture that was fall apart tender while still holding its structure. Despite the fact that Cannibale Royale has grown into a mini chain throughout Amsterdam, they are clearly doing something right. The kitchen shows consistency, solid technique, and real attention to detail. I would absolutely return the next time I am in the city.

I’m a fan and I’ve visited all the branches, lol. The burger is the best in Amsterdam (as expected). The only downside: they tend to dry out the pork belly here. At the Rozenrecht branch, it’s always tender and amazing. I keep forgetting not to order it at this location!

Never knew that the old location of Brasilbinkie had been taken over by such a great restaurant with an amazing selection of carnivorous dishes. My friends and I had heard about it and decided we had to try it. We were kindly welcomed at the reception, and after giving our reservation details we were swiftly seated. The service staff was friendly, youthful, and well put together. They first offered us drinks from their fine selection, ranging from dark and pale ales to ginger beer and sodas. After that, we placed our appetizer and main course orders. One friend ordered the bittergarnituur with mustard, followed by beef ribs with chimichurri and mac and cheese on the side. Another friend went for the chicken wings as a starter, then also had the beef ribs with chimichurri, with regular fries as his side. I ordered the bread with garlic butter to start, and then their renowned beef ribs with chimichurri, paired with sweet potato fries. The appetizers were appropriately sized and easy to share around the table. All were tasty and served at a good temperature. The standout of the round was the chicken wings—something I’ll definitely order next time. The beef ribs were the highlight. Everyone at the table was raving about how tender the meat was, practically falling apart with little resistance to the knives. The chimichurri complemented it perfectly. Because of the generous portion sizes, we asked for containers to take some of the mains home, and the staff happily obliged. All in all, a great experience that I’ll happily recommend to others.

Came in on my own on an early Saturday evening. Didn’t have a reservation but was able to have a bar style seat. Ordered the Cannibale Royale burger with fries. Fries were excellent. The burger was really well made with high quality ingredients. Personally I’d have liked a bit more salt and vinegar with it. A few pickles, even one on the side, would have been good. Just lots of sweet umami parts to it. It’s nitpicking but would have balanced it somewhat. Still very good food and the prices aren’t bad. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Excellent place if you want a meat dinner in good but informal setting.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What an incredible experience at Cannibals Royale in Amsterdam! 🏙️✨ Visited with friends, and it was absolutely lovely. The atmosphere and vibe are super relaxed, making it a perfect spot to unwind. 🕯️ The food is out of this world. 🌟 vegetarian offering. I was so impressed by the options; I didn’t feel left out at all! 🥗💚 And let’s talk about the desserts… divine is the only word! 🍰😋 The staff and service? Spot on. A colleague recommended this restaurant, and I’m so glad we followed their advice bc it was absolutely worth it!! From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. They took the time to recommend the best dishes on the menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. The rib steak was perfectly cooked, tender, and juicy. What made the experience even more special was the thoughtful gesture from one of the staff members. While we were taking a selfie, she kindly offered to take a proper family photo for us. It’s little things like that that turn a good dinner into a genuinely heartwarming memory. ☺️ My parents said it was the most delicious meal they had in Amsterdam, and I couldn’t agree more. This time, we chose the tartare starter, the Le Magnifique burger, and the Le Cannibale Royale burger. Everything was delicious, but for me, the tartare stood out as the most exceptional culinary experience. Among the desserts, the brownie was fantastic, while the fruity sauce on the cheesecake was perhaps a bit overpowering. Overall, it was a good experience, and the service was fast and friendly.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. We will definitely visit again when in Rotterdam. The “Le Sympathique (200GR)”, a smooth grain-fed Australian Bavette Steak, was simply mouth-watering good. I had it medium-well. The burger was also a fantastic choice. Great quality meat. The Crispy Cauliflower Bites were a unique delight! The cocktails were also great. I will certainly recommend this place to anyone visiting Rotterdam. There are several nearby parking garages (5-10 minutes walking distance). Plenty of hotels in the vicinity as well.

Went here two times during our Amsterdam stay. The handsome guy actually remembered where we sat last time, and this time, he didn’t forget the fork! 😋 We were lucky haha! The food was really good. We tried this restaurant which is located in an alleyway after seeing good reviews online. We got the chicken wings and sandwiches paired with their beers on tap. The food is good and the beer is nice. Service was ok, sometimes it seemed like they were a bit busy but we did visit during the lunch rush on the weekend.

Was out first time at Nord location. What can I say – was a totally positive experience. We had a dinner for three persons there, and was pleasantly surprised by service and overall stuff friendliness. Food was very good, portions are just about right sized. 5/5 and would come back again soon here.

We heard so many great things about this restaurant so we had to stop in for lunch. I’m so glad we did! The food was delicious and I know I must go again next time I’m in town. We had both the wings and tartare as appetizers and the chicken Caesar sandwich and the short rib sandwich. The sandwiches were perfect and filled with great ingredients! The chicken was juicy and well seasoned and the ceasar dressing was different yet beyond delicious. The short rib sandwich almost made me sing lol. The meat was tender and juicy and went perfectly with the mustard and pickles. 100 outa 10 stars! I will be going again!

We arrived on Friday evening, and luckily we had a table reservation as there were five of us. We were welcomed by a friendly maître d’ who showed us to our table. We received the menus and placed our order quite quickly. The menu is small but versatile. The waiter was knowledgeable and very friendly – a full 10/10 (I forgot his name, but he was wearing a hat). We ordered only main courses: steaks, cauliflower steaks, and a half chicken (which was more than enough for one person). The food arrived quickly. Everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavor – the best food we’ve had in Amsterdam so far ❤️ The chicken was perfectly cooked, the meat melted in your mouth, just like the steaks. The restaurant was full and the staff were busy, yet they still took excellent care of us. The atmosphere was lovely – you could easily hear your own company and it wasn’t noisy. An 11/10 experience, highly recommended ❤️ Staff is the best here 😍

This restaurant is definitely easy to miss—hidden in plain sight—but once you find it, it has a quirky charm and a cozy, intimate vibe that sets it apart. We ordered the ribs, which were tender and had a subtle, smoky flavor—not overpowering, which I actually liked. That said, the portion size was a letdown. Both of our plates came out noticeably smaller than what’s pictured online… and even smaller than what the table next to us received. A little consistency and quality control would go a long way here. We also tried the lobster tail. While nicely cooked, it felt underwhelming for the price. The menu says 140g, but it looked and felt like less—hard to say, but it didn’t quite meet expectations. They accept split bills if you come with friends. Overall, there’s potential here. The food tastes good, the ambiance is charming, but they need to work on delivering what’s promised—especially when it comes to portions.

Atmosphere is always nice, and if our waiter did not switch in the middle of our dinner – maybe 5 stars. Came for a birthday dinner, and saw others that also did. Well we had 2 birthdays, and got zero cakes and fountain candles. Small things matter. After you leave many hundreds in for a dinner and feel like meh. Will not return, unless other places will be booked. Weird food set up- if you don’t order any greens – there won’t be any. Some interesting drinks. And ever more and more expensive Photo Booth.

Wow, we had an amazing dinner! It was a cold day and we arrived a little before opening time. Luckily, the staff welcomed us in right away and even offered us a drink while they finished their meal and prepared for their shift, such a thoughtful gesture. Service was quick and the team was incredibly friendly throughout our visit. The food was absolutely outstanding, compliments to the chef! If we hadn’t been so full from the main course, we definitely would’ve ordered dessert. Highly recommended!

Visiting from the US, and I'd fly back over here just for the short rib. We got the sampler, with bread. The chicken was SO moist and flavorful, ribs fell apart like they should, pork belly was beautifully smoked, the aforementioned short rib was divine. The pickles were a standout- perfectly sweet & sour. Service was great, atmosphere welcoming & funky-cool. Highly recommend.

Yum yum yum. It’s a pretty big place, so big groups or dinner with colleagues are fitting here. The restaurant is French inspired. The steak was juicy and flavourful, even a the well done steak was juicy. I recommended getting the sweet potato fries! Moreover, great service.
