This restaurant is a fantastic find tucked away off the main high street in Amsterdam. The atmosphere is brilliant with a real buzz and the place seems always busy, and with good reason! All the food I had here on two visits was fantastic. The burger had excellent flavours, as did the ribs and steak, and everything was cooked to perfection and was of good quality. They have some very good own brand drink options as well. A special mention about the staff, who are super friendly and seem happy to be there! Big thanks to Yasin who was happy to give us a little lesson on Dutch drinks – I now know what jenever is and how it’s traditionally meant to be consumed alongside a Fluitje of beer (see photo). Would definitely go again when in Amsterdam, highly recommended!

We arrived on Friday evening, and luckily we had a table reservation as there were five of us. We were welcomed by a friendly maître d’ who showed us to our table. We received the menus and placed our order quite quickly. The menu is small but versatile. The waiter was knowledgeable and very friendly – a full 10/10 (I forgot his name, but he was wearing a hat). We ordered only main courses: steaks, cauliflower steaks, and a half chicken (which was more than enough for one person). The food arrived quickly. Everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavor – the best food we’ve had in Amsterdam so far ❤️ The chicken was perfectly cooked, the meat melted in your mouth, just like the steaks. The restaurant was full and the staff were busy, yet they still took excellent care of us. The atmosphere was lovely – you could easily hear your own company and it wasn’t noisy. An 11/10 experience, highly recommended ❤️ Staff is the best here 😍

I’m a fan and I’ve visited all the branches, lol. The burger is the best in Amsterdam (as expected). The only downside: they tend to dry out the pork belly here. At the Rozenrecht branch, it’s always tender and amazing. I keep forgetting not to order it at this location!

I had a nice experience here. Even if was alone i was seated to a 5 person high table. The service was fast. I definitely recomend the cannibale burger, it was nicely cooked and tasty. The fries, just fries. Also franziskhaner weissbier is very good. Also ia getting busy in the evening so i think it will be good idea to make a reservation.

Yum yum yum. It’s a pretty big place, so big groups or dinner with colleagues are fitting here. The restaurant is French inspired. The steak was juicy and flavourful, even a the well done steak was juicy. I recommended getting the sweet potato fries! Moreover, great service.

We heard so many great things about this restaurant so we had to stop in for lunch. I’m so glad we did! The food was delicious and I know I must go again next time I’m in town. We had both the wings and tartare as appetizers and the chicken Caesar sandwich and the short rib sandwich. The sandwiches were perfect and filled with great ingredients! The chicken was juicy and well seasoned and the ceasar dressing was different yet beyond delicious. The short rib sandwich almost made me sing lol. The meat was tender and juicy and went perfectly with the mustard and pickles. 100 outa 10 stars! I will be going again!

Came to Cannibale Royale for lunch — it’s a must-stop for me every time I visit Amsterdam. The place has cool vibes, and the hosts and waiters are genuinely caring and attentive. We had the Le Modeste steak, which was perfectly cooked, along with the short ribs sandwich and fries — all were excellent. You really can’t go wrong with this place.

2nd time coming here in the last few years, brought my Dad a few years ago and now my boyfriend as I remembered how brilliant the food is – and it lived up to memory! Burgers were perfect, chips and mac & cheese were all delicious. Our server was lovely and very helpful, asked if we needed any recommendations or help and made sure we were all good throughout 🙂 Highly recommend for a proper meal with protein after a long day of walking round the city!

Wow, we had an amazing dinner! It was a cold day and we arrived a little before opening time. Luckily, the staff welcomed us in right away and even offered us a drink while they finished their meal and prepared for their shift, such a thoughtful gesture. Service was quick and the team was incredibly friendly throughout our visit. The food was absolutely outstanding, compliments to the chef! If we hadn’t been so full from the main course, we definitely would’ve ordered dessert. Highly recommended!

Came in on my own on an early Saturday evening. Didn’t have a reservation but was able to have a bar style seat. Ordered the Cannibale Royale burger with fries. Fries were excellent. The burger was really well made with high quality ingredients. Personally I’d have liked a bit more salt and vinegar with it. A few pickles, even one on the side, would have been good. Just lots of sweet umami parts to it. It’s nitpicking but would have balanced it somewhat. Still very good food and the prices aren’t bad. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Excellent place if you want a meat dinner in good but informal setting.

If you’re craving American-style burgers and steaks, this is the place to be. I started with the chicken wings, which were flavorful and satisfying, and then had the Classic Beef Burger — cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. Beyond the food, the lively atmosphere and great energy of the restaurant made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a great burger spot in Amsterdam.

Visiting from the US, and I'd fly back over here just for the short rib. We got the sampler, with bread. The chicken was SO moist and flavorful, ribs fell apart like they should, pork belly was beautifully smoked, the aforementioned short rib was divine. The pickles were a standout- perfectly sweet & sour. Service was great, atmosphere welcoming & funky-cool. Highly recommend.

The restaurant is small. We had to wait 10-15 minutes to get a table, which speaks for the restaurant. I had the 600g steak and it was cooked perfectly medium rare. The beers were good. However, as I’ve already said the place is not very spacious and you sit very tightly to your neighboring table. It did not have any impact on the good impression whatsoever 🙂

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. We will definitely visit again when in Rotterdam. The “Le Sympathique (200GR)”, a smooth grain-fed Australian Bavette Steak, was simply mouth-watering good. I had it medium-well. The burger was also a fantastic choice. Great quality meat. The Crispy Cauliflower Bites were a unique delight! The cocktails were also great. I will certainly recommend this place to anyone visiting Rotterdam. There are several nearby parking garages (5-10 minutes walking distance). Plenty of hotels in the vicinity as well.

Quieter than the other outlet in the main walking street area. Large interior seating area so while a little crowded, there wasn’t much of an issue finding a table on a Sunday evening. Staff are really friendly and attentive. The beef short rib is really good and not served at other BBQ restaurants in the city. Well worth traveling here for a visit.

Atmosphere is always nice, and if our waiter did not switch in the middle of our dinner – maybe 5 stars. Came for a birthday dinner, and saw others that also did. Well we had 2 birthdays, and got zero cakes and fountain candles. Small things matter. After you leave many hundreds in for a dinner and feel like meh. Will not return, unless other places will be booked. Weird food set up- if you don’t order any greens – there won’t be any. Some interesting drinks. And ever more and more expensive Photo Booth.

Had a nice dinner here on a Friday evening. We made a reservation prior, which was a good call because it was quite busy. The service was good, once we ordered we didn't need to wait very long for the drinks and food. Everything we got was good but nothing exceptional. The Cannibale Royale's Favourite Ribs were tender but the flavor wasn't anything special. They were a bit more on the salty side and I wouldn't really describe them to be with a sweet and sticky glaze. I also got the Mashed Potatoes as a side and was quite disappointed with them. I expected rich and creamy, but they were more of the industrial/typical restaurant tasting kind. For €7 I really expected better. The L'Incroyable (Ribeye 300g) was perfect. It was perfectly cooked and tender. The only comment is that it does not come pre-salted, but once you sprinkle it with a little salt it is fantastic. Lastly, I really enjoyed their Lychee Royale cocktail. It wasn't too strong and it was very refreshing. Overall, a good dinner. The food is good, but I would probably stick to the steaks next time. Went here two times during our Amsterdam stay. The handsome guy actually remembered where we sat last time, and this time, he didn’t forget the fork! 😋 We were lucky haha! The food was really good. I especially liked the pork belly, garlic bread and brownie. Highly recommend it if you ever come here! 🇳🇱🍻

Apparently dolls can be found throughout this restaurant, but we only saw a few. The espressotini hit the spot and everyone was happy with their meals. The L’Incroyables were cooked to perfection. The service was good and the atmosphere was cozy. Our waiter had some great food recommendations. We were treated to a traditional shot at the end that was potent! Definitely a great place to have dinner when in Amsterdam!

I had a really good experience at Cannibale Royale in Amsterdam. The quality of the meat was great—tender, and cooked just right. The service was also nice, with friendly and welcoming staff. Good cocktails card. Liked homemade fries. The Caesar salad was good, though I’d suggest using a little less mayonnaise—just a recommendation for the chef. Also tried the baked Camembert, which I liked, though I prefer a milder taste. The spiciness might have been the chef’s choice, but I would have preferred it less spicy. Overall, a positive experience. A solid restaurant!

Never knew that the old location of Brasilbinkie had been taken over by such a great restaurant with an amazing selection of carnivorous dishes. My friends and I had heard about it and decided we had to try it. We were kindly welcomed at the reception, and after giving our reservation details we were swiftly seated. The service staff was friendly, youthful, and well put together. They first offered us drinks from their fine selection, ranging from dark and pale ales to ginger beer and sodas. After that, we placed our appetizer and main course orders. One friend ordered the bittergarnituur with mustard, followed by beef ribs with chimichurri and mac and cheese on the side. Another friend went for the chicken wings as a starter, then also had the beef ribs with chimichurri, with regular fries as his side. I ordered the bread with garlic butter to start, and then their renowned beef ribs with chimichurri, paired with sweet potato fries. The appetizers were appropriately sized and easy to share around the table. All were tasty and served at a good temperature. The standout of the round was the chicken wings—something I’ll definitely order next time. The beef ribs were the highlight. Everyone at the table was raving about how tender the meat was, practically falling apart with little resistance to the knives. The chimichurri complemented it perfectly. Because of the generous portion sizes, we asked for containers to take some of the mains home, and the staff happily obliged. All in all, a great experience that I’ll happily recommend to others.

The place is very charming and cosy, with a great table layout. The staff is very friendly and takes care of their customers. With regards to the food, it was delicious and very tasty, I completely recommend the 300gr steak and the canibale burger. I ordered an Espresso Martini as dessert, and there is a lot to improve, it has a very coffee watery taste, missing out the right proportion of the cafe liquor. Other than that, 100% recommend and I will go back for sure.

This time, we chose the tartare starter, the Le Magnifique burger, and the Le Cannibale Royale burger. Everything was delicious, but for me, the tartare stood out as the most exceptional culinary experience. Among the desserts, the brownie was fantastic, while the fruity sauce on the cheesecake was perhaps a bit overpowering. Overall, it was a good experience, and the service was fast and friendly.

Went here last night after a really poor experience at the floating cheese bar. We were still hungry and needed something with some weight. Wife and I split a burger and fries. Took 25 or so minutes to make and it was mediocre at best. We had the Magnifique I believe and was ok. Way overcooked and the only real flavor was the sauce. Ratings here are not equivalent of the food unfortunately. The service was poor as well. Minimal interaction, nobody checking in. Just a let down. Also, they charge 5.50 € for water which is likely child tap water which they make it seem like you’re paying for a bottle of quality water. They bring the bottle to the table in a re-used bottle with the cap removed already. They’re scamming people for $. Pretty infuriating. If I’m wrong, they need to start unsealing the bottles in front of you like most reputable places.

Six colleagues who all appreciate good meat and proper BBQ had dinner here on a Monday evening, and it was a great experience from start to finish. The place oozes cool vibes — a raw bar atmosphere, awesome decor, and old-school hip hop playing through the speakers. Large wooden tables, plenty of cold beer, and of course… lots of meat. We chose a sharing platter with a wide selection of meats: spare ribs, sausage, chicken, beef ribs, and several other cuts. Everything was absolutely delicious. You pick a few side dishes to go with it, and then it’s just about sitting back and enjoying. The flavors were spot on, and the meat was incredibly tender — falling-apart, melt-in-your-mouth good. Combined with the relaxed, lively atmosphere, we almost didn’t want to leave.

Was out first time at Nord location. What can I say – was a totally positive experience. We had a dinner for three persons there, and was pleasantly surprised by service and overall stuff friendliness. Food was very good, portions are just about right sized. 5/5 and would come back again soon here.
