If you're after late-night meat in central Amsterdam, Cannibale Royale Handboogstraat fits the bill, though it can feel a bit industrial. The vibe is dimly lit, loud, and constantly busy, making service hit-or-miss depending on the hour. The ribs are decent—sticky, sweet, and soft enough—though not standard-setting. The flat iron steak came cooked as requested, but needed a bit more seasoning to stand out. Pairing it with a glass of house red wine washed it down fine, though the pour felt standard for the price. Overall, we had a nice evening. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was enjoyable. I also liked the music selection, with hip-hop classics like Common and Tupac playing in the background. The food was good, but not perfect. The ribeye was slightly overcooked for my taste, and the chimichurri could have used a bit more acidity to make it fresher and more balanced. The broccoli was unfortunately quite dry. The only real downside was that we were seated in the back section of the restaurant, where the air felt very stuffy and uncomfortable after a while. All in all, a nice place with good service and a cool vibe, but the food and ventilation could be improved.

Amazing burgers and absolutely delicious steaks! Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredible. A special thank you to Zina for making our visit even better. She was so warm, welcoming, and attentive from the moment we arrived. Since we don’t eat pork, she took the time to recommend the best options for us and made sure we had a great experience. Her recommendations were spot on, and her friendly attitude really stood out. Great food, excellent service, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the short ribs—they were the best short ribs I’ve had in Amsterdam! They were incredibly tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. I would also like to give a special mention to Jana for her outstanding service. She was friendly, cheerful, and incredibly helpful throughout our visit. Her warm smile and positive attitude were one of the main reasons I left the restaurant so satisfied. Thank you, Jana, for making our experience even more memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back!

Super delicious! Recommend ribeye 10/10 and beef spare rib 10000/10, so tender, it just melts in your mouth without chewing. Bread with butter is to die for as well, crunchy and salted outside and soft inside, the butter on the side is marinated with kruiden to this perfect taste and paired so well with the bread. I love it so much! What kind of bread is it?

I'm a committed carnivore, so a restaurant named Cannibale Royale had me before I even opened the menu. I found it browsing Yelp, and the name alone told me this was going to be a meat-forward kind of night. Fair warning if you're bringing anyone squeamish about restaurant names: The wife wasn't thrilled about it going in, though the food won her over fast. Getting there was its own small adventure. The place sits down a narrow alley, and our Uber couldn't get us all the way to it, which turned into a bit of a hike. That happened to us more than once in Amsterdam, using the exact address didn't always mean the driver could actually reach the door, so budget a few extra minutes if you're headed here. I normally default to steak, but the menu had a burger topped with pulled pork that promised more meat than a straight cut, and I couldn't pass it up. Delicious. Genuinely one of the best burgers I've had. But the wife's flat iron steak might have stolen the night. Flat iron is one of the most underrated cuts out there, and this kitchen proved it. She was still talking about that steak days after we got home, enough that I ended up buying flat irons from Costco just to chase it. The atmosphere is cool and a little edgy, dim lighting, a lot of character, and yes, some genuinely creepy decor scattered around, including an old doll that stares at you like it's judging your order. It ran loud, but not so loud we couldn't hold a conversation across the table. Service was good, just on European time rather than American time. Getting the check took a while, which threw us off at first, but that's the norm across the EU, not a knock on this place specifically. Pricey, but worth every bit of it. We'd go back without hesitation next time we're in Amsterdam.

An inviting restaurant in the centre of Rotterdam, with delectable dishes and home-brewed beer. The meals were overall good, but I’d like to highlight the chicken with rosemary and lemon – super flavoursome! My mom and I shared a big portion and enjoyed it a lot. Next, the spare ribs weren’t anything special, but quite good. The steak, however, was tasty, but it was not what we asked for; we wanted medium rare, but it was rather medium to raw. When it comes to beverages, the home-brewed beer definitely elevated the experience; it paired very well with our dishes (they even suggest a flavour based on the meal choice!). Overall we had a good night, kind and attentive staff, as well as a pleasant atmosphere.

Yesterday me and my boyfriend wanted to find something that is good Quality and not so touristic ! What a Juwel!!! We were treated Like Locals, the beautiful woman with red hair in the Service was always so professionell and lovely. Even my extra wishes were no Problem. Food 100% Quality 100% prices TOP!!! There was a misunderstanding with my dish, so the super cool manager checked on me personal and the cook personally gave me my dish again. The Crew is so passionate and full of effort, best Burger place in town. Give them a huge tip when you are there, not often that you see such a crew in a touristic city with THIS Food Quality!! Even before closing they were super chill and nice. Thank you guys! We are so happy and don’t Need to go anywhere else!
